For the Glory KC is back with episode 78 of the show!
This week we're bringing you a special episode with not one, not two, but three hosts. For those of you reading KC Soccer Journal, we've added some familiar names. Juan Cisneros and Xander Kennedy make their For the Glory KC debut! Don't worry, Sheena will be back, but we'll take his 7 1/2-hour drive and he just finished an 8-day road trip, and there's not enough soccer fanatics among us to create a podcast right away. And there was only one of him.
We start the show with some love for Sporting Kansas City, who picked up a big three points against Toronto FC. Sporting KC managed to win without the injured Alan Pulido (not to mention Johnny Russell and Andrew Fontas). The question arises: is that a good thing or a bad thing? Xander, Juan and I overcome the lack of production from up front, but the goals still come from elsewhere.
We also touch on bangers from Remi Walter and Jake Davis, as well as Arenis Vargas' reproducible goal if Peter Vermes continues to trust his young, speedy backup. Plus, there's no avoiding Toronto's goal at the death, which was clearly more than half a foot offside.

In addition to all the goals scored, Memo Rodriguez is stepping up his game, Sporting KC's penchant for long-range shooting, the return of Felipe Hernández, Robert Voloder continuing to start, and much more. We will quickly cover a variety of topics. and The referee was reinstated as a PRO and the PSRA reached a new CBA.
Before leaving Sporting KC for good, we have to talk about Roger Espinoza returning for at least one game, but that won't be too far from Kansas City. He will join the Des Moines Menace this Wednesday in the U.S. Open Cup against Union Omaha (Nebraska). This begs the question, who else should join Des Moines (or any other team) to make a run for the Cup?
KC Current continued to perform well and rose to the top with three consecutive wins. Vanessa DiBernardo, Alexa Spaanstra, Temwa Chawinga and Bea scored, but I feel like they could have scored more. You also get to their level of competition in the first three weeks and of course their set-piece defending. Additionally, does NWSL have a VAR problem? I have an idea!
