Originally, Kenny Omega was scheduled to team up with Chris Jericho to win the AEW World Tag Team Championship. Unfortunately, I was unable to participate due to diverticulitis. He's clearly better now and even teased a boxing match with a WWE Superstar.
During a Twitch livestream, Omega brought up the idea of getting into the boxing ring for a celebrity match and expressed interest in a potential match with WWE's Xavier Woods. While Omega acknowledged the possibility of such an event occurring, she stressed that she did not want to physically harm Woods, despite their on-screen rivalry.
Instead, he suggested that a boxing match between them would make for an interesting spectacle. Omega's comments sparked speculation among fans about the possibility of crossover matches between wrestlers from different martial arts arenas.
“Who knows? Maybe in the future on some Triller card I'll be boxing someone as a celebrity. I don't know. We'll see, who knows? So if I If I had a real boxing match, who would I want to see me fight? Is there a wrestler you think I could fight in a real boxing match?
“Creed (Xavier Woods)” Actually, do you know? Creed, to be honest, it would be a good match. In fact, I think it would be a really good match…but in an actual shoot boxing match. I think it will be a good fight. I really think so. That would be really good.
“But I don't want to punch him. I hate him, I don't want to punch him. I hate his guts, but I don't want to punch him (Omega jokingly said).
“I don't think he wants to hit me either. I don't think that's going to happen. I don't think that's going to happen.”
Kenny Omega will continue to be hated no matter what happens, and that's unlikely to change anytime soon. Nevertheless, it remains to be seen how Omega will be booked upon his return, as he will likely return to AEW television soon.
