While playing for LIV's Smash GC team, Koepka dropped to 31st in the world rankings. Among Americans he stands in 18th place.
Briton Hatton, who moved to LIV Golf in January, is currently ranked 16th in the OWGR with two compatriots above him, but is unlikely to move up the rankings if he continues to play on the LIV circuit. right.
Other LIV players who have reportedly asked the International Golf Federation to remove them from consideration are Louis Oosthuizen of South Africa and Thomas Peters of Belgium.
PGA Tour player Adam Scott (Australia) also reportedly declined the opportunity to participate for the third consecutive year. Mr Scott had previously expressed his distaste for the current format of Olympic golf, calling it an “exhibition” and expressing his desire to allow amateurs to compete.
The IGF reportedly has no plans to officially release the names of players who have opted out.
