MMA fighter Conor McGregor has shared a glimpse of his debut film experience on social media.
McGregor shared a clip showing him and co-star Jake Gyllenhaal undergoing intense preparation for the climactic fight scene.
The film, which will be available to stream on Amazon Prime, is a remake of the 1989 Patrick Swayze-led project of the same name.
McGregor's post, captioned “Properly Ported,” was originally published on Prime Video, revealing that he was actually involved in directing the scene.
In the video, McGregor is seen coaching Gyllenhaal on the fight while film executives watch.
In a video shared online, McGregor leads a fight scene and says, “You're on the door, I'll punch the door.” Boom. When I punch the window, you push me back and break the glass.
“I'd like to say something to him here. I think I'm messing with your legs,” he added.
The film, which juxtaposes the on-set efforts and the final product, will be available to stream on Prime Video starting March 21st.
Gyllenhaal, 43, will play Elwood Dalton, a former UFC fighter who becomes a bouncer at a dingy bar in the Florida Keys, alongside fellow UFC fighter McGregor, 35.
The actor also revealed in a recent interview with The Daily Telegraph Australia that McGregor “accidentally hit him”.
Despite this acting challenge, McGregor recently admitted he has no plans to give up the fight until he's “hit the ground running.”
The UFC star is awaiting his return from the Octagon for the first time in nearly three years, and it looks increasingly likely that he will finally face Michael Chandler in his return fight later this year.
He hasn't competed since breaking his foot in a trilogy fight with Dustin Poirier, but has still been involved in altercations with various fellow stars.
All eyes are now on UFC CEO Dana White about McGregor's anticipated return to the Octagon after a three-year hiatus due to injury.
