Coleman was a top-ranked transfer from Michigan State and spent one year at FSU before deciding to transfer to the NFL. In three years at the collegiate level, he rushed for 1,506 yards and 19 touchdowns while excelling on special teams and added another 300 yards in the return game. He earned First Team All-American honors and was named First Team All-American as a receiver, all-around player and return specialist. He became the first player in FSU history to earn all-conference honors in three categories in one season.
