Systematic Voter Education and Electoral Participation to Raise Awareness and Electoral Participation (SVEEP) took a novel form with martial arts entering the fray in Dharmapuri.
A rally combined with a traditional martial arts performance was held on Friday, March 29, 2024 as part of the SVEEP program to draw attention to voting as a democratic right.
The event saw over 600 students gather over a 2.5km stretch to perform martial arts such as silambatam. The rally started outside the government Dalpauri Medical College Hospital and culminated at the sports stadium complex, where hundreds of students conducted a cultural program to raise awareness for 100 percent voting.
The voter awareness program organized with the support of SVEEP nodal officer and district revenue officer Paul Princely Rajkumar saw enthusiastic participation of students from the sports department, Silambattam troupe and school students. I did.
At the sports stadium, the students were presented with a pledge to support free and fair elections and participation without fear or prejudice, in the presence of Aruna Rajoria, General Observer of the Electoral District.
