The former Spanish Football Federation president was suspended from domestic and international football for three years in October 2023 after the organization found that he had violated FIFA's disciplinary provisions in the kissing incident.
Earlier this year, a judge said there was enough evidence to recommend a trial against Rubiales and three other former executives of the Royal Spanish Football Federation.
Prosecutors told ABC News on Wednesday that Rubiales was sentenced to two-and-a-half years in prison for grabbing Hermoso's head without her consent and for the nonconsensual kiss to have a personal and professional impact on the soccer community. admitted that he had asked for a sentence. player.
