Tim Tze will headline the first US pay-per-view of his career when he takes on Sebastian Fundora in Las Vegas on Saturday, March 30th (March 31st in Australia).
The Australian, who holds the WBO and WBC belts, is aiming to unify the division, as his father, Hall of Fame boxer Kostya Tsi, did.
Kostya hasn't watched his son play in person since 2016, but there have been mixed reports about his potential to play in his next game.

Will Kostya Tzi play in Tim Tzu's next match?

But just a day after the initial report, Tim himself poured cold water on that possibility, declaring that his father was “not coming.”
Had Kostya been in attendance, this would have been the 54-year-old's second time watching Tim's professional fight live.
In 2016, Kostya surprised his son the day before his professional debut against Zoran Cassady.
The two had not seen each other for four years.

Although Tse won the match, he decided to ban his father from participating in future matches.
“He was a nightmare. It really hurt!” Tszyu said. sports news Kostya's ringside presence in 2021.
Tim said he struggled with Kostya's persistent cries during the fight.
“That was the last time. I love and respect my father's support, but it was a little difficult,” he added.
“Next time, maybe we can give him one of the suites further away so he can look through binoculars.”

Kostya Tsy's record, belt
Kostya is a legend in the light welterweight division.
The Russian-Australian boxer made his professional debut in 1992, winning by TKO in his first fight.

He became WBC light welterweight champion just three years later and unified the weight classes in 2001.
This made him the first man in 30 years to unify all light welterweight belts.
Kostya retired in 2005 with a record of 31-2-0 with 25 knockouts.
In 2011 he was inducted into the International Boxing Hall of Fame.

Kostya and Tim are not the only boxers in the Tszyu family, Tim's younger brother Nikita is also building a career of his own.
The 26-year-old has won all eight matches of his professional career so far.
Most recently, he defeated Dylan Biggs in November 2023 to win the Australian super welterweight title.
