CARY, N.C. (WNCN) – Wrexham AFC plans to return to the Triangle in 2024.
Wrexham will compete in the men's and women's divisions at this summer's Soccer Tournament (TST) in Cary.
The club competed in the event last year when the Red Dragons advanced to the round of 16.
“We are looking forward to returning to the football tournament for a second year,” Wrexham AFC director Sean Harvey said in a statement. “Last year's tournament marked the club's US debut. It was a great experience to welcome supporters to watch Wrexham Red Dragons play. It was a great experience to watch them create such memorable moments on the pitch. The 7-on-7 event will feature a winter sweepstakes prize of $1 million. Last year's ticket sales hit a record high, with more than 35,000 people attending the inaugural tournament.

Wrexham's entry into the 2023 tournament will include the club's first-team players, legends and friends, including goalkeeper Mark Howard, current Wrexham first-team coach David Jones and former star striker Lee Trundle. It consisted of Jones is expected to return as Red Dragons manager in 2024.
Wrexham AFC Women will be competing for the first time as part of the new women's quota in 2024.
