What is being said?
Fraser Clarke:
“He (Wardley) is overconfident. I think he has every reason to be confident, but if you look at his record, he hasn't put a foot wrong yet.
“He keeps saying he's already beaten elite amateurs like Nathan Gorman. With all due respect to Nathan Gorman, he was a decent amateur but far from elite. That's just a myth.
“The last win was against David Adeleye. He is a great personality and a promising player, but realistically speaking he lost the battle to Kamil Sokołowski. He barely practiced for that fight because he was winning in 2017. Even if he (Wardley's) best wins are two or three, they're a little hollow.”
Fabio Wardley:
“I still don’t feel that the fights he’s had since (the purse bid) are of any value or substance to put him in a position where he feels he should be ready to fight me right now. But if he thinks so, then let's see.
“He knows that his previous withdrawal from the game has had a huge impact on his reputation. He feels a lot of resentment toward me and is very supportive of me in wanting to make it right. .So I welcome that.”
Johnny Nelson of Sky Sports Boxing:
“The pressure is on both fighters, you can see what Fabio has done and how he is doing, but he is in great shape, getting the job done and beating everyone in front of him. For Fraser, on the other hand, it's about opportunity, it's about time, the speed of development.
“These two guys are finally getting in the ring together. They both have pride and confidence and are doing it the traditional way. This is an old-school heavyweight with two fresh fighters. It's going to be one of those battles of class, people who are over the hill or who don't know what they're doing.
“It’s two fresh fighters going in to win at all costs. I think back to this fight over and over again and I love these types of British heavyweight title fights.
“The way these two approach a fight is very even. You can always tell someone's rattled or shaking a little bit, but they just don't feel it. Frazier actually does that. I think he's really angry that he's in a position where he has to bow down to this guy and go after him for the title. ”
