ROSWELL, Ga. — New girls and boys soccer teams could soon be coming to North Fulton.
The City of Roswell and the United Soccer League announced they have reached an agreement to explore the construction of a soccer stadium and entertainment district.
The stadium could potentially support a USL Super League women's soccer team and a USL Championship professional men's soccer team. City and USL officials are expected to reveal details at a news conference Tuesday at 2 p.m.
“The City of Roswell is excited to enter into exclusive negotiations with USL with the potential to bring professional men's and women's soccer to Roswell,” said Mayor Curt Wilson.

“This is an unprecedented opportunity for our city. We are still at the beginning of the process and many details need to be finalized, but we look forward to exploring possibilities with USL.” “A new entertainment district, multipurpose stadium and home to two professional soccer teams will be a major economic driver and point of pride for the city of Roswell,” he added.
The site for the proposed stadium and entertainment district has not yet been determined. If approved, the stadium would seat at least 10,000 people and USL would be the anchor tenant, officials said.
