LOUISVILLE, Ky. — One of the Louisville football program's longest-tenured class of 2025 players has rescinded his verbal commitment.
Westerville (Ohio) North offensive lineman Jake Cook announced Tuesday that he has opted out of signing with the Cardinals.
“First, I want to thank God for the ability to play this game and the opportunities I will have,” Cook said on Twitter/X. “I also want to thank the entire staff at Louisville for the time and investment they have made in me. After much prayer and talking with my family, I have decided to re-open my recruitment.”
Cook had been committed to Louisville since early February, taking an unofficial visit on Junior Day and then returning to campus for his official visit just last month.
“The visit was great. It's always great to come back to campus,” Cook told The Louisville Report. “It's a great place to hang out with great people.”
