A few months after unveiling the facelifted 4 Series Coupe and Convertible, BMW has taken the wraps off its four-door companions, the 4 Series Gran Coupe and the all-electric i4. For 2025, these models have subtle interior and exterior styling tweaks, laser taillights, new infotainment, and updated engines for gasoline-powered versions.
The 430i Gran Coupe is powered by a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder that produces 255 horsepower and 295 pound-feet of torque, now powered by a 48-volt mild hybrid system. This engine now runs the Miller cycle for efficiency, and BMW has made a number of tweaks to improve breathing. The M440i Gran Coupe delivers 386 horsepower and 398 pound-feet of torque thanks to a mild hybrid system. That's a significant increase over the previous 382 horsepower and 369 pound-feet. As before, both engines are mated to his eight-speed automatic transmission.

While there are no power increases to any i4 model, there are a number of visual tweaks to both the i4 and the 4 Series Gran Coupe. The most obvious are the headlights, which ditch BMW's long-standing 'angel eye' design in favor of a more abstract, twisted motif. Standard on the M440i and i4 M50, optional on other models, adaptive LED headlights and laser rear taillights are taken from the M4 CSL. There are some new wheel designs, and BMW has also tweaked the kidney grille trim.
Inside, there are two new steering wheel options: a two-spoke for the standard model and a flat-bottomed three-spoke version for the M Sport cars. The curved infotainment display also features BMW's latest infotainment, iDrive 8.5. The i4 offers improved EV route planning with charging stations. Other than that, there aren't any major differences. The HVAC vent design has been tweaked, but that's really all there is to it.
So there are small improvements, but nothing surprising. But the 4 series and i4 were already great, so they didn't need to adjust much. BMW has not announced pricing yet, but says production will begin in July.
