University of Alabama football head coach Cullen DeBoer's first full freshman class got another boost on Friday, when cornerback Dijon Lee committed to the Crimson Tide, joining the 2025 class.
Lee, a five-star prospect according to the 247Sports Composite, is playing high school football in Mission Viejo, Calif. He chose Alabama over a number of other options, including Texas and Georgia.
Lee announced the news from Mission Viejo in a live stream on his Instagram account.
“He can overpower opposing receivers at the line of scrimmage and is very good in press coverage,” 247Sports national recruiting analyst Greg Biggins wrote in his scouting report on Lee. “He's quick for a tall cornerback and changes direction well, so he's rarely beaten up top. He gets the ball in his hands a lot, and he's physical in run support and isn't afraid to go downhill and deliver some hard hits on running backs. He's also a smart player with a good head.”
Lee recorded 55 tackles (22 of which were solo) as a junior at Mission Viejo High School, as well as two interceptions and 13 throws for interceptions.
The 6-foot-4, 190-pound Lee is listed as the No. 4 cornerback in the nation in the 247 Composite for the class of 2025. The service rates him as the top player in his class out of California and No. 22 in the nation.
Lee becomes Alabama's 20th pledge in the 2025 class. He becomes the second cornerback pledge, joining fellow four-star player Chuck McDonald, also from California.
According to the 247 Composite rankings, he is just the second five-star player in the class, the first being linebacker Darrell “Duke” Johnson.
