Who will compete at the Olympic Gymnastics Trials?
The full entry list is here.
The men's field is anchored by three-time U.S. individual all-around champion Brodie Malone, 2023 World Individual All-Around bronze medalist Frederick Richard and 2023 U.S. Individual All-Around winner Asher Hong.
The winner of the men's individual all-around at the Olympic Trials will automatically be on the five-man Olympic Team if he finishes in the top three in three of the six events. The rest of the team will be chosen by a selection committee that will heavily rely on performances at the Trials and the Xfinity U.S. Championships four weeks earlier.
The women's competition will feature Simone Biles, who won the US Individual All-Around for a record-breaking ninth time, along with Tokyo Olympic gold medalist Suni Lee, two-time World Individual All-Around medalist Leigh Jones, Tokyo Olympic floor exercise champion Jade Carey, and Tokyo Olympic team silver medalist Jordan Childs.
Skye Blakely, who was runner-up to Biles at the national championships four weeks ago, withdrew after injuring her Achilles tendon during practice Wednesday night.
The winner of the women's individual all-around at the Olympic Trials will automatically become a member of the five-woman Olympic team, with the remaining four team members chosen by a three-person selection committee after the trials, taking into account performance up until last fall's world championships.
Simone Biles helped Suni Lee get through a tough time at the Xfinity USA Gymnastics Championships.
