The 2024 IIHF Ice Hockey Women's World Championship begins this morning at the Adirondack Bank Center in Utica, New York. This year, 10 teams will be divided into two divisions and compete for the right to call themselves the best hockey team in the world.

The logo features a red, white and blue motif with four stripes and three white stars, clearly representing the flag of the host country, the United States.

This year, Pool A includes Canada, the Czech Republic, Finland, Switzerland, and host country (defending champion) the United States. Pool B includes China, Denmark, Germany, Japan and Sweden. This will be the 22nd Women's World Championship. No other country has won a gold medal other than Canada and the United States, and of her 22 competitions, only once has a team other than those two won a silver medal (Finland in 2019).
The IIHF has been using a template design for its tournament logo for quite some time. The first women's hockey championship to use this format was her 2007. The template utilizes a hockey rounded rectangular shape. IIHF logo, the colors and designs were changed to match the host country or region. Each logo has the year of the tournament above and the tournament title below. The host city is always displayed at the bottom.

Look at the diagram below. The 2020 edition was canceled due to the coronavirus pandemic, and the tournament was not held in 2010, 2014, and 2018 due to the Winter Olympics.
