The International Ice Hockey Federation (IIHF) Women's World Championship will be held in the United States for the first time since 2017.
Utica, New York, will be held from April 3rd, following previous U.S. events such as Lake Placid (1994), Minneapolis (2001), Burlington, Vermont (2012), and Plymouth, Michigan (2017). The tournament will be held over the 14th.
All five top-seeded teams in Group A (USA, Canada, Czech Republic, Switzerland and Finland) will advance to the quarterfinals. The top three of the five lower-seeded teams in Group B will advance.
The United States defeated Canada 6-3 in Brampton, Ont., last year to become the defending champions. Hilary Knight scored a hat trick in the 2023 gold medal match, extending her career records for points (101) and goals (61) at world championships.
