Avery Marzek

Marjek enjoyed the best season of her collegiate career as a junior in 2023, being named to the All-Conference First Team and earning the Summit League Midfielder of the Year award. A United Soccer Coaches All-West Region First Team honoree, Marjek led the Jackrabbits in points (21), goals (8), assists (5), shots on goal (58) and shots on goal (25).
SDSU defeated Omaha 1-0 on Nov. 5 to win its seventh Summit League Tournament title and finished the season 13-4-3 after losing 5-2 to No. 15-ranked Nebraska in the first round of the NCAA Tournament. Marzek's best performance of the season came on Oct. 15 when he scored two goals to lead the Jacks to a 3-0 win over St. Thomas.
The Hudson, Wisconsin, native played a total of 1,535 minutes on the field during the 2023 season. She played the full 90 minutes in three games and 80 minutes or more in six other games. The 5-foot-2 Mrzek has a twin sister, Laney, who is also a member of the Jackrabbits football team.
