The 105-year-old care home resident from Dorchester enjoyed trying out his Muay Thai boxing skills.
Jean, who lives at Maiden Castle House on Gloucester Road, was invited to try out her boxing moves with other residents at the care home.
The 105-year-old was coached in many of his moves by Lee Grinrod, a former K1 world champion who currently teaches K1 and Muay Thai at Valhalla Martial Arts in Weymouth.
Jean said: “It was a lot of fun. I had never tried it before or thought about trying it, but whenever someone suggests something different in a care home, I always try. I'm going to give it a chance.''
When asked what was the secret to reaching 105 years old, Jean answered: “Being happy with my life and believing that people are kind. I have great friends here.”
Reflecting on Gene's boxing skills as the oldest student he has ever taught, Mr. Lee said:
“She was throwing a good combination of jabs, crosses, left hooks, right hooks. I was very happy to hear that it brought back memories of boxing from my youth.”
